Moonrise Kingdom
I’m looking forward to Wes Anderson’s next film, “Moonrise Kingdom”. The cinematography looks spectacular! In fact, the above image reminds of paintings by Canadian painter/artist, Alex Colville. He paints with great detail; yet restraint with the people and objects in the compositions. There’s something very serene with his paintings and I felt the same when I...

Daily Routines
The cold is coming. Summer is slowly slipping away, so I like to take comfort with my other love affair - food.
Not just any kind of food, but the trending food blogs out there that make me want to try out new recipes, but these days the food styling is amazing that I get design inspirations from it. From colour combinations, to compositions and even lighting.
Here’s something new -...

As always, let me tell you about the gems I find and bookmark from the internet. There’s so many great bloggers out there that inspire me and gives me the passion to do creative work that I love! And I don’t just mean design or illustration, but cooking and baking is a secret love of mine.
I drool over the images and products at Elephantine, then dream about awesome gatherings with...

Holiday Greeting Cards
Is it too soon to showcase my holiday greeting cards? Well, these babies are my favourite and were the ignition to start my own Etsy shop, “Hop & Flop”. I’ve finally had the chance to get these posted to my shop. This is also the sign of things I still need to finish. If only I had a clone. It may seem like I still have lots of time until the Christmas craft markets start,...

Daily Routines
I have to admit, I have my routines. Everyone does. I keep tabs on some sites that keep me drooling to work on more crafty work.
Here’s what I usually always do first thing in the morning.
Check out the amazing work of Mint Design, then crave everything Oh Joy finds and eats (yum-o!). Finally, I end days with a bit of inspiration from Poppytalk.
I have plenty more sites I check out, but...

My online store!
With so much on the go, I’ve neglected this blog. Sorry. I didn’t mean to, but I had plenty to keep myself busy.
What you might wonder has kept me away from posting? New greeting card collections and finally a shop to showcase it all.
I now have an etsy shop. With the help of a photographer, some elbow grease to make all the greeting cards, I’ve opened an online store!...

Snippets of a Custom Baby Book
The long awaited baby book for my closest and dearest friends is done. Fini! I lost count, but I think it was 20 pages total of sketching and colouring. I usually think of a theme and do my research for the imagery.
The first was jungle animals, the second was choo choo trains with stuffed animals and this one, is an arrangement of cute ocean animals. I hope my friend enjoys it as much as I...

I’m keeping busy and finally working towards completing a baby book for dearest friend. I still have a few pages to sort out, but the theme is there and I’m enjoying the sketches and colouring I’m doing so far.
Here’s a sneak peek, but I’ll take more photos when it’s all finished.

A Beginning and an End
Another year is coming to a close, but there’s just too much brewing in my head for the next year, that I can’t wait for it to start. Here’s a recap of what my year has been like:
• Successful craft markets at Market Collective and Hillhurst Craft Market. Next year I’ll definitely be signing up for more.
• Tried some new recipes from fellow bloggers, that I’m...

2010 Holiday Raccoon Collection
Friends, family and relatives all know I love Christmas because I send them a yearly tradition - a personal illustrated greeting card. I never tire of it because I get to be creative and I always have a theme each year. It all started one year when I created hand illustrated cards with a different illustration on each and that year it was frogs.
This season, I’ve decided to introduce cute...

Patterned Ascot Scarf
You know when it’s starting to get cold outside is when you start whipping out a scarf to wear. This year, I discovered another beautiful pattern for another ascot scarf. I still can’t get enough of the pattern and it’s much taller or wider than the simpler ascots I made last year.
I’ve got some wonderful variety of coloured ascots, which will be available this winter...

Lust
I heart letterpresses. It’s been my eye candy for a long time. Every time I see a blog or images of someone’s amazing work, I drool. I’ve just started following Snap and Tumble from Toronto. I envy the work she gets to create and the creations she gets to share with others.
All these images here are from Snap and Tumble’s blog.
I should set a goal to acquire a table...

I’ve always been a fan of everything that Anthropologie offers, but what draws me in every time is their amazing window displays. They never disappoint me and inspire my own craft work. Thanks Anthropologie!

Oh Baby!
This is completely off the beaten track, but two of my friends recently gave birth to babies. I’m so happy for them and their bundle of joy.
One baby was born on the week of September 13th and the other just this past Monday. One girl and one boy. Thank goodness I made enough baby blankets for all.
Though now I have the desire to bake my friends some goodies because now they can eat...

Art and Craft Markets
I hope people out there know how much time and effort is put to all the pieces that are displayed for sale at craft markets. In my case, I’m all by myself. I just finished my first outdoor street festival at Haultain Park. I drove, I lugged merchandise and set up shop 9am today and I’m exhausted.
Here’s a couple pictures of a table decoration I wanted, so it would boost...

Busy, Busy
Okay, so I’m not the best at keeping my blog up-to-date. I have been busy, so please stay tuned. It’s just so crazy to deal with a full time job, side hobby/job and arrange everything I need for a much needed overseas trip in November.
Though I can tell you some things on my list of in progress work:
• New pattern and styled neck scarf
• Spot Illustration for a local Edmonton...
