I’m in the process of knitting a baby blanket for a friend. The funny thing is, this isn’t the first. This is the fourth! When I made one blanket and finished it, I ended up starting another one right away.
I love it though! I started to learn to knit on my own last summer and I didn’t start with blankets. I made a scarf and moved on to ascot scarves, which I started to sell them last Christmas. I love making them that I just started an online shop for the ascots (and other handmade goodies). You can check it out here. I plan to experiment and make more lighter scarves with different patterns. The fun part is simply finding stitch patterns from a stitchionary and making it your own. This blanket pattern combines two, used from Vogue Knitting Stitchionary.
Plus, I think it’s high time to make something just for me. Like a beautiful cowl, cardigan or even shawl. Keep this in mind, when you have a full time job, a lot of your spare time goes towards knitting. This blanket will take me a month to complete (like all the past ones). Here’s to knitting and purling.
